The Mission: Why The Neuro Dad Exists
If you are reading this, you are probably tired. Maybe you just spent two hours trying to de-escalate a meltdown. Maybe you’re researching sensory swings at 3:00 AM. Or maybe you just got the diagnosis and you feel like you’ve been dropped into a foreign country without a map. I know the feeling. I live there, too.
Who Am I?
To the world, I’m just a dad in Ohio. But to my son, I am the safety net, the researcher, and the “fixer.” I am not a doctor. I am not a behavioral therapist. I am just a Dad who refuses to give up. When my son started his journey, I did what every parent does: I hit Google. I fell down the rabbit hole of medical journals, terrifying statistics, and contradictory advice. I bought gadgets that broke in two days. I tried supplements that tasted like chalk. I wasted time and money I didn’t have. I started The Neuro Dad to be the resource I wish I had back then.
What You Will Find Here
This site is not about “curing” anything. It is about removing friction. It is about finding the small tactical wins that make Tuesday morning 10% easier.
- Real World Hacks: Practical strategies for haircuts, dentist visits, and picky eating that we have actually battle-tested.
- The Toolkit: Honest reviews of the gear, tech, and sensory tools that survived my house. If it’s junk, I’ll tell you. If it’s a lifesaver, I’ll link to it.
- The Dad Perspective: Honest talk about the stress, the guilt, and the massive wins that only we understand.
My Promise to You
There is a lot of noise out there. My goal is to be the signal. I review products because we need them, not just to sell them. Yes, I use affiliate links (like Amazon) to keep this site running. That means if you buy a weighted blanket through my link, I might buy a cup of coffee with the commission. But I will never recommend something that I wouldn’t let into my own home. We are all figuring this out, one day at a time. I’m just taking notes so you don’t have to start from scratch.
Welcome to the team.
